ISLAMABAD: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan will retire on March 18. A summary has been sent to the Prime Minister for the appointment of a new chief. The command of the Pakistan Air Force will change on March 18.
According to sources, the Defense Ministry’s summary includes the names of the four most senior officers of the Pakistan Air Force for the new Air Chief. The four officers are the most capable and best choice for the new Air Chief. The four officers include Air Marshal Noman Ali and Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar. The names of Air Marshal Jawad Saeed and Air Marshal Haseeb Paracha are also part of the summary.
Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan spent an eventful tenure which also saw ‘Operation Swift Retort’ on February 27, 2019 when PAF fighter jets carried out air strikes at six locations in Indian Occupied Kashmir while remaining within the Pakistani air space. The PAF jet fighters also shot down two Indian Air Force aircrafts when they entered Pakistani air space chasing the JF-17 Thunders.
