Sheikh Rasheed says Govt working on restoration of Karachi Circular Railway
Karachi: Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed says the government is working on the restoration of Karachi Circular Railway to resolve the issue of travelling in the megacity.
Talking to media in Karachi, he said we want to remove all encroachments on the track of KCR in minimum time. The Minister said the government also desires to lay a railway track from Peshawar to Jalalabad to improve connectivity between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Sheikh Rasheed said there is a plan to handover some passenger trains to the private sector. He said the democratic process in the country will continue to strengthen and the incumbent government will complete its constitutional term.
While commenting to the PPP chairman’s statement in which he distanced himself from the hard-hitting narrative of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, Rashid said: “Bilawal acted responsibly and clarified that no consensus between opposition parties had evolved to directly name the military leadership during rallies.”
